MEMBER shipping lines of the Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) have announced they will raising rates for export shipments from mainland China and Hong Kong to Australia as part of a rate restoration programme.
From November 15, rates for all outward shipments with origin in China and Hong Kong to ports and points in Australia will be increased by US$300 per TEU and $600 per FEU for both dry and refrigerated cargo.
This increase will apply in full on top of existing ongoing market rates and will be subject to accessorial surcharges applicable at the time of shipment, an AADA statement said.
AADA is a voluntary discussion forum of 19 ocean carriers serving the trade from north and east Asia to destinations in Australia.
The members are: ANL Singapore, APL, China Shipping Container Line (HK), Cosco, Evergreen Line, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin Shipping, Hapag-Lloyd, HMM, "K" Line, Maersk, MSC, MOL, NYK, OOCL, PIL, Sinotrans Container Lines, TS Lines and Yang Ming.
